Politics Continues Their Anniversary Hot Streak with the adidas LA Trainer “Festival”

Sneaker Politics is dominating the collab space right now, in celebration of the store’s twentieth anniversary. Still hot off the release of their latest with Reebok, today they’ve announced the “Festival” adidas LA Trainer, landing later this week.

Louisiana boutique Sneaker Politics is celebrating the twentieth anniversary of their store opening this year. Back in 2006, Derek Curry founded the now-chain of stores that stretches across the American South. Over the years, Politics has gained quite a lot of cultural cache, gathering partnerships with footwear brands and giving their own spin on some iconic silhouettes. Their early works saw Politics team up with Reebok and Saucony, creating the excellent “Cafe du Monde” series for the latter. Politics is a part of adidas’ Consortium program, an elite tier of collaborative partners. This week, they unveiled their latest work with the Three Stripes, and the next installment in their ongoing 20th anniversary celebration.

Dropping this week, the next Poltiics x adidas release features the LA Trainer OG in a “Festival” theme. Still hot off the release of their “Wishing Ritual” Workout Plus with Reebok last week, the new release takes inspiration from countercultural celebrations like Woodstock, borrowing its color story from vintage festival posters and archival adidas graphics. The trainer comes doused in a Pulse Lilac shade of pink across the nylon base and nappy suede overlays. The Three Stripes are added in Shock Pink with gold foil branding. The tongue and heel panels come in an electric blue shade, the former bearing a large yellow square in place of the usual adidas branding. Finally, the sole insert pegs come in pink, purple, and blue.
