Their current roster of offerings has shifted towards their terrace icons and futuristic deliveries like the adidas Jellyfish or the Megaride family, but given their overall scale, of course there are countless corners of Three Stripes history that command their own cult followings. Arguably, those with real love for and connection to the ZX family are the most fanatical, with those icons of old becoming truly coveted objects.

In recent months, Germany’s Overkill has become a principal steward of that catalog, dropping off homages to the beginning and end of the A-ZX family with a Consortium drop towards the top of the year. Crucially, it let loose an interpretation of a yellow-heavy pair that was never officially released, letting adi devotees get their first chance in earnest to own that colorway. In similar fashion, Overkill is now turning its attention to the adidas ZX8000 “Made in France,” a 1991 release that’s reproduced nearly one-to-one for this collab. Aquamarine detailing bounces around what’s otherwise a subtle white/gray foundation, before a Torsion dubrae and Torsion unit underfoot inject neon green into the mix.

The Overkill x adidas ZX8000 “France” first releases via an in-store drop at Overkill Berlin and Overkill Cologne. A raffle for an online launch, ending on August 2nd, is open now. Any remaining pairs will drop online on August 2nd at 2 PM local time.
