In the sneaker world, the Dodgers are winners all the same. Kobe Brand is following up last year’s highly sought-after Kobe 6 Protro “Dodgers” with a similar take on the Kobe 5, authoring the next chapter in what could become a full series of Dodgers-inspired releases. Kobe was a noted Dodgers fan during his playing days, and the team has kept that connection alive through giveaways and its annual Lakers Night celebration.

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Dodgers” matches the squad’s jerseys with a blue foundational layer, joined by a silver Swoosh with white outlining. The standout detail lives near the heel, where red baseball-inspired stitching runs along the sides. Kobe’s two jersey numbers, 24 and 8, appear on the inner tongue within what look like old box TV graphics.

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro “Dodgers” releases September 8th for $190 via Nike SNKRS and select retailers. Given the popularity of both the Dodgers and Kobe Bryant shoes in general, expect a competitive launch.
