Nike’s Updated Air Max 1000.2 Releases May 7th

We are now about one year removed from Nike’s wide debut of their first 3D printed sneakers, the Air Max 1000. This season, the Swoosh is issuing an updated version of the model, the 1000.2.

Nike was a bit late to the 3d printed sneaker game by the time they launched their initial models, but they still managed to craft an exciting new release. The first model to be available to the public was the Air Max 1000, a fully printed silhouette designed from the ground up for the project, and featuring their titular Air technology under the heels. Since the model’s debut, they’ve issued a handful of new colors as well as a second model, the AM 95000. This week, the Swoosh has unveiled an update to the AM1K, which doesn’t alter much, but changes the way the shoes are produced. The Air Max 1000.2 brings a refined lug pattern to the shoe’s outsole, which also makes the model quicker to print. This means more pairs can be made ahead of a drop, and pre-order versions will be ready to ship faster.

Nike’s next drop of a 3D-printed Air Max shoe has been scheduled to release next week, on May 7th, 2026. This release will feature the Air Max 1000.2, a slightly updated version of their initial design, with a new tread pattern that makes the shoe quicker to produce. Pairs will be available through the SNKRS app for $200.
