Nike’s New Air Huarache Runner Debuts in ‘Light Smoke Grey’ in July

Nike’s Air Huarache has been a fan favorite model since its introduction in 1991. This year, the Swoosh is updating the classic with a new look, dubbed the Air Huarache Runner, launching in ‘Light Smoke Grey’ in July.

Nike’s Air Huarache silhouette first landed in stores in 1991, revolutionizing the brand’s running catalogue. Built with speed in mind, the lightweight model featured a neoprene inner bootie for a snug fit and breathable design. More than thirty years later, the Huarache still stands as one of Nike’s most iconic models, and its getting an update this year in the form of the Air Huarache Runner. The new style builds on the simplicity of the original, swapping out the full neoprene layer in favor of breathable mesh in the toes and midfoot, though the flexible material is still present on the tongues. Layers of leather and suede are added to the outer portions, while a refined rubberized heel counter wraps around the rear. The debut ‘Light Smoke Grey’ colorway features shades of grey and black, as well as a splash of purple as a nod to its origins.

Nike’s new take on the Air Huarache, the Runner, has been scheduled to debut next month, on July 6th, 2023. Dressed in ‘Light Smoke Grey’ for its initial release, the new model will be available from retailers like Finish Line for $140.
