Following the smash success of the Nike Ja 3, Ja Morant’s signature line has officially outgrown the confines of a single model. The next chapter will introduce not one but two performance offerings, with the flagship Ja 4 soon to be joined by Morant’s first takedown shoe in the Nike Twelve Time. Nike has now formally announced the model, unveiling three colorways and confirming a September 4th, 2026 release date.

Named after Morant’s jersey number, the Nike Twelve Time follows the traditional formula of a budget-minded takedown model, pairing simpler technology with a more pared-back design than its flagship counterpart. Even so, Nike’s designers made sure the shoe retained the same infectious energy and personality that has come to define Ja’s signature line.

Much of that character comes through the branding. The heel features an all-over arrangement of Ja logos alongside hidden “12” detailing, while an oversized Swoosh doubles as a partial tongue cover as it wraps from the medial side toward the lateral. Underfoot, the herringbone traction pattern is divided into triangular sections that echo the angular silhouette of Morant’s logo.

From a performance standpoint, the Twelve Time combines a tightly woven mesh upper with a dual-density foam midsole distinguished by sculpted wave detailing. Firmer foam along the lateral side is intended to provide added stability when attacking downhill. There’s no ZoomX, Zoom Air, or similarly headline-grabbing cushioning technology, but the setup should offer more than enough support and responsiveness for most everyday players.

Nike has unveiled three launch colorways as part of the official announcement, including a black “Dark Woods” edition featuring an eerie tongue graphic, a red “Solar” colorway, and a purple “Nightmare” pair that may arrive alongside the Ja 4 rollout.
