Nike is preparing to revive another Air Max member of the Y2K-era Alpha Project, the AM2000. However, the model has been renamed as the Ecstasy Plus, coming soon.

The Alpha Project was one of Nike’s most ambitious initiatives at the turn of the century. Having cemented their place as innovators in the world of performance footwear, the Swoosh set about ushering in the new millennium with a series of unique, boundary-pushing silhouettes that challenged basic concepts like sizing and design. The project gave us some iconic sneakers that live on over twenty-five years later, like the Air Presto and its t-shirt sizing range, the Air Huarache 2K4, the Kukini, and many, many more. In 2000, Nike released the Air Max 2000, featuring new elements like a molded mesh upper and a rubberized TPU cage over the lacing system. The AM2K is back this year, though the Swoosh has renamed it to Ecstasy Plus for its first-ever retro. Debuting tomorrow from Supreme, today we have an early look at a simple black and grey rendition of the runner, coming this Fall.

NIKE AIR MAX ECSTASY PLUS RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike has not announced any release plans for their new Air Max 2000 retro just yet, but the model will debut tomorrow in collaboration with Supreme. We expect their first in-line styles to arrive soon after during the Fall 2026 season. Seen here in a simple grey and black build, the new style will be among the first to land on shelves from both Nike and select retailers, likely with a price tag in the $170 range.
