When it comes to Los Angeles Basketball, Kobe Bryant will be cemented as one of the all-time greats. Even going beyond basketball, his name rings out through the sports world. Nike Basketball and the Kobe Bryant estate will drop another Dodgers-inspired pair, and this go-around, it will be on the Kobe 5 Protro.
This release is a follow-up to the “Dodgers” Kobe 6 Protro that was launched earlier in the year (2025) and restocked a handful of times.
Shown is a mock-up. However, you can expect the Nike Kobe 5 that releases to look close. As expected, the shoes will feature the Dodgers’ signature colors of Blue, White, and Red throughout. Connecting to the sport, we have baseball seams that overlay the panels and collar in Red. More Red seams land on the tongue and fill in the Kobe shield logo and his signature on the heel. The upper, which is drenched in Blue, also appears on most of the upper and the midsole. Other details include White on the midsole and the rubber outsole.
One of the best parts of this pair, in my opinion, is the insoles. The insoles feature an image of Kobe Bryant at a Dodgers game, wearing a jersey. This would be the last game he attended before his passing.
