New Balance recently introduced 1988’s 996 running shoe to their Made in USA series, debuting back in March. Now, a fresh light grey color scheme has surfaced, expected to arrive in May 2023.
New Balance has been thriving on their revival of classic sneakers over the past few years. The craze over their iconic footwear comes largely from the 99x family, a series of premium running silhouettes that began in 1982 with the 991. This year, they are shifting their focus away from the 990v1, v2, and v3 models that dominated the past two years, cherry picking some of their other iconic models for special treatment, like the 996. The latest colorway to emerge of the 1988 running shoe takes on one of their essential color schemes, outfitting the model with an off-white mesh base, hairy grey suede overlays, and a hint of dark navy blue to complete the look.
NEW BALANCE 996 MADE IN USA ‘GREY’ RELEASE INFORMATION
New Balance’s next colorway of their recently-revived classic 996 running shoe has not been officially announced for release, though they are expected to drop sometime in May 2023. Dressed in shaggy grey suede with dark navy accents, pairs will be available via the brand’s Launches platform for $190.
