New Balance’s Made in USA releases are headlined by the pairs associated with Teddy Santis, but every once in a while they sneak a special release in. This month, the 992 MiUSA gets a sleek, neutral “Shadow” style, coming soon.
The 992 debuted back in 2006, as a part of New Balance’s celebration of 100 years in the footwear industry. The runner followed in the footsteps of giants, serving as the third installment in the 99x family. The model has held its own amongst heavy hitters ever since, and is one of the most beloved lifestyle models in the Boston brand’s arsenal. After a series of releases in the early 2020s, the 992 returned to the fold in 2024, and has been a staple of the Made in USA line ever since. The Boston brand has an excellent new colorway lined up for this season, pitting the retro runner in a clean palette of neutral tones. Turtledove white for the mesh underlay, Blacktop suede for the shoe’s mid layers, and Shadow Grey for the pigskin mudguard around the lower half of the shoe all come together for the dark new style.
NEW BALANCE 992 “SHADOW” RELEASE INFORMATION
New Balance’s next release of their Made in USA 992 is scheduled to arrive sometime this month in June 2026. The new look brings a solid palette of neutral shades to the retro runner, mixing Shadow Grey with Turtledove and Blacktop. Pairs will be available from both NB and select retailers for $200.
