This week we got our first look at New Balance’s seasonal upgrade for the 580, featuring Gore-Tex materials. In addition to its initial black colorway, a ‘Kombu’ dark green pair has emerged, coming soon.
New Balance revealed a fresh upgrade for the retro 580 this week, giving the older running shoe a new weather-ready Gore-Tex lining. The timely new release has not been given a set date yet, though they will likely arrive just ahead of the rainy season. Initially, the model emerged in a simple black & magnet grey look, but is now joined by a smooth ‘Kombu’ dark green. This look combines an olive green mesh underlay with lush green suede for its outer panels, while layer of black break up the blocking via the midsoles, collars, laces, and ‘N’ logos.
NEW BALANCE 580 GORE-TEX ‘KOMBU’ RELEASE INFORMATION
New Balance’s upcoming Gore-Tex edition of their 580 model has not been announced for release yet, but is expected to launch sometime during Winter 2023. Seen here in its ‘Kombu’ dark green color scheme, pairs will likely be available from both the brand’s Launches page and select retailers for a hefty $170.
