The New Balance 2002R "Protection Pack" is back, this time with a ripstop update for a more durable utilitarian offering. Included in the pack are four different colorways, including Olive, Sail, Tan and Navy.In general, the 2002R continues to be a popular silhouette for collaborators, with recent releases including Atmos, Shoe Palace and DTLR.As for the "Protection Pack" specifically, the future relic of sorts has also received a handful of collaborations, as well as over a dozen inline releases. First popularized by its "Rain Cloud" example, one of three debut colorways, the "Protection Pack" 2002R has even gone the lengths of being the subject of a custom Tabi pair for Salehe Bembury.Each pair in the latest pack features jagged-edge suede overlays, exposed heels that reveal the NB logo and of course the highlight of the shoe, ripstop nylon as the base layer.
