Larry June and adidas are finally ready to bring their collaborative sneakers to the public. After the unveiling of a F&F pair early this year, the adiStar Control 5 has reappeared in another “Citrus” theme, releasing in August.

Bay Area native and rapper Larry June first announced his partnership with adidas late last year. The new relationship marks June’s first entry into the world of footwear, which kicked off back in January. June and adidas unveiled a gorgeous pair of the adiStar Control 5 that month, which we mistakenly believed to be the initial release from their partnership, before they clarified that pair was only made for friends & family. Luckily, their first public release sticks closely to the colors and theme of that original look, building on Larry’s ongoing love of citrus.

Our first look at the upcoming Larry June x adidas adiStar Control 5 comes in the form of official images, giving us the best possible glimpse of the upcoming sneaker release. The Control’s many-layered upper is ripe for color blocking, and June and co. went crazy with this pair. The shoe’s base layer features a diamond grid mesh in white, with an underlay colored with a gradient that starts in red at the toes and fades to green at the heels. The shoe’s synthetic overlays are applied in a muted grey or off-white tone, adding metallic silver accents on top. Clay brown accents make up the heel counter, tongue, and midsole accents, while gold laces and stripes add even more color to the look. June’s name is scrawled across the tongues in adidas’ blocky font, while a lime green inner lining completes the fresh style. As a Bay Area native and San Francisco resident myself, I will absolutely be picking up a pair.

After the unveiling of a friends & family pair back in January, Larry June and adidas are preparing a second edition of the adiStar Control 5 to release to the public on August 15th, 2026. The new pair features similar shades of red, green, and yellow, keeping on track with June’s citrus theme. Pairs will likely release from both adidas and select retailers for $160.
