KITH and Nike are back with a new collaboration. This go-around, the two will debut a new iteration of the Nike Air Max 95. Known as the KITH x Nike Air Max 95 “Knicks,” this pair is also inspired by Ronnie Fieg, who serves as the creative director of the Knicks. In the past, KITH has worked with the brand, which included projects on the Air Force 1 Low and the Nike LeBron signature line.
Ronnie Fieg became the New York Knicks’ creative director in 2022, a role that gave him authority over the team’s fashion collaborations, special edition uniforms, and cultural partnerships.
The Kith x Nike Air Max 95 “Knicks” reimagines the iconic grey gradient that the original 1995 Air Max 95 design is known for. Instead of smooth materials, the shoes have the embossed KITH monogram layers that create texture and depth across the upper. Paired with the Kith logo, we have repeated Swooshes.
The original Nike Air Max 95 featured a grey gradient that ran from dark to light, from toe to heel, inspired by human anatomy and creating the model’s most recognizable design feature. Fieg maintains this gradient structure while incorporating the embossed monogram pattern, which transforms smooth surfaces into a textured landscape.
Orange lace eyelets provide the first obvious Knicks color reference, which is featured on the eyelets and accents the tongue branding. Solidifying the team colors, Blue graces the Swoosh logo and is placed within the Big Bubble Air Max unit. Black is also present, appearing on the woven upper, tongue, laces, and midsole. Lastly, the heels have a checkerboard pattern, a tribute to the Knicks court that Ronnie Fieg designed.
