Kiko Kostadinov’s Asics UB6-S GT-2160 Releases in March

Asics SportStyle division has had plenty of exciting releases in the past year, under the creative direction of Kiko Kostadinov. This season, the Bulgarian designer is taking on the GT-2160, dubbed the UB6-S style.

Kiko Kostadinov first partnered with Asics in 2018, teaming up to create a number of signature silhouette that borrowed heavily from the Japanese brand’s extensive archives of running footwear. Since then, Kiko has ascended to the position of creative director for the SportStyle category, which blends their performance footwear with lifestyle purposes. This week, two new projects under Kiko’s label have emerged, the “Kinetic” pack of the US5-S GEL-Quantum, as well as the UB6-S GT-2160, seen here. This marks the first release of the 2160 designed by Kostadinov, after the designer firs teased the silhouette last Fall. The model will release in three colorways, “Mantle Green/Grape,” “Grey Floss/Brown Storm,” and “Arctic Blue/Carbon”. Each pair features a heavy dose of metallic sheen across the heel counters and Asics branding, as well as the signature looped pull tab on the tongues.

The next release from Kiko Kostainov’s collaboration with Asics is scheduled to debut in Japan this week, on March 8th, 2024. Three colors of the updated UB6-S GT-2160 will be available for approximately $117, though will likely come with a price tag of $140 in western markets.
