Hellstar and adidas are continuing their incredibly successful releases next week, turning to the Megaride S2 for their latest flame covered sneaker release.

Los Angeles-based brand Hellstar has quickly become one of adidas’ biggest collaborative partners. The label, founded in 2020 by Sean Holland and Joseph Pendleton is known for its eye-catching graphics and bold colors, which they’ve translated incredibly well to their work with the Three Stripes. Their initial releases delivered a heavily modified version of the iconic Superstar, adidas’ go-to silhouette for first time partners. During this year’s NBA All-Star celebration in their hometown, Hellstar got the chance to work on Anthony EdwardsAE2, giving us one of the best styles for that model to date.

This season, Hellstar and adidas are turning their focus to some retro performance tech, the Megaride cushioning that has exploded in popularity over the past year. Taking on the Megaride S2 for this release, the bouncy cushioning tech is limited to the heels of the shoes, paired with a solid rubber forefoot for added stability. Hellstar’s take on the model is, as usual, covered in flames. The upper’s materials have been replaced with a single layer of synthetic textile, applying the flames in mesh cutouts from toe to heel. The flames show off a gradient of grey, black, and off-white tones underneath. The standard lacing system has also been covered by a zippered shroud, and an icy blue outsole underneath completes the look.
