This season, Japanese footwear brand Flower Mountain diversifies its famously overstated sneaker library with a refined collection designed to function in both urban and rural environments. Encompassing the new drop, the brand’s popular Yamano 3 model silhouette, which typically appears in clashing colors and patterned materials, becomes pared back with technical materials that are softened through tonal palettes. The chunkier Yamabushi also gets transformed with plush leather and suede panels layered across the body.To support the styles, Flower Mountain launches a lifestyle line and a performance line, each featuring a series of brand new iterations. In the lifestyle offering, the trek-inspired Sanchia, Ranya, and Kazana Fall adopt curved lines and cushioned surfaces for a versatile look, while the Asuka 3 strips the runner silhouette of its panels and replaces them with stitched lines. Meanwhile, the performance line focuses specifically on enhancing technicality. From the straps and ties of the Back Country 2 to the Vibram-soled Iwano 2, the components bring an added layer of support and protection, as well as a touch of rugged outdoors style. Alongside the main collection, the brand also drops a special-edition capsule with the aforementioned silhouettes. Titled “Harmony of Traditions,” it looks more closely at Flower Mountain’s Japanese heritage by weaving traditional textiles like Mikawa cotton and Kurashiki canvas into an assortment of iterations.
