If any brand is dropping a new tentpole performance model, who better to connect with than those that will actually wear it? Clearly, that’s an ethos that the Swoosh has in mind as the Nike LeBron 24 stares down its market debut. Nike Basketball united several notable basketball creators and overall representatives from the world of basketball to do exactly that, with first looks at a Nike LeBron 24 weartest sample in all black coming out of the trip.
As far as this particular colorway, this monochromatic palette shouldn’t be much of a surprise; it’s been Nike’s standard for weartest samples for years upon years. Notably, the Mars Yard 3.0 emerged in this same nocturnal arrangement, though obviously the retail version would lean on the classic earthy combination Tom Sachs has favored throughout his line.
This does, however, provide some expert confirmation of what the Nike LeBron 24 brings to the table, marking the “lightest LeBron ever” via a KingKnit upper. In less trademarked language, it’s a triple layer of Flyknit that forms the body of the 24. The silhouette is also notable for a somewhat low-profile sole unit underfoot, a departure from most of the James’ work, yet a drop-in ReactX midsole, and Zoom Turbo/Zoom Air units ensure a tech package fit for a King.
This Nike LeBron 24 “Triple Black” weartest sample won’t be coming to the market, limited to just 50 pairs with a decent portion afforded to those invited to this Beaverton hoops symposium.
