New Balance has resurrected more than a few Y2K-era silhouettes in recent years, spearheaded by the re-introduction of the 2002R, 1906R, and 860v2. While those models first came to light at the tail end of the 2000s, the Boston brand now looks set to dig a bit deeper.

Images shared by @kicksdong offer a first look at an upcoming New Balance 1000, a long-archived runner that first saw shelves back in 1999. The colorway pictured features wavy white leather overlays and royal blue/teal/pink accents, producing an “aqua” look that fits seamlessly into late-90s design aesthetics.

This new gallery arrives just as NB creative director Teddy Santis, Joe Freshgoods, and others in the know hint at the 1000’s re-emergence on social media, with Santis posting metallic silver and white/orange pairs on his story a few weeks back.
