Danner and meanshile have formed a fruitful partnership over the years, resulting in technical footwear built for the rugged outdoors, without compromising on style and comfort. The latest collaboration between the two is no different, as the Portland-based label and Japanese imprint worked together to release the Pittock Gurkha Sandal.The name of the silhouette references the Pittock Mansion in the West Hills of Portland, a 23-room French Renaissance-style house that publisher Henry Pittock and his wife, Georgiana Burton Pittock, once lived in and who are accredited for being key figures in the transformation of Portland from a pioneer town to an industrial city.Available in black and nume, the base of the sandal is crafted with cowhide leather that features a subtle grain texture. While the interior gives way to a supple pigskin leather that is abrasion resistant and water absorbent. Additional details include three zig-zag straps that weave and lock the sandal together, as well as Danner and meanswhile co-branding on the heel, all atop a chunky Vibram sole for added traction.
