Street Fighter has squarely carved out its importance in the history of video games. In other media, your mileage truly will vary; some see Jean-Claude Van Damme’s 1990s film as a failed attempt, while others see it as a high-camp classic. This October, we’ll see a new set of hands bring it to the silver screen, taking another stab at the rich text that is the franchise’s branching storylines and bringing an ensemble cast along the way, with Roman Reigns, 50 Cent, and Cody Rhodes just some of the eye-catching stunt castings already confirmed.

Trust that there will be plenty of merchandising opportunities in the lead-up, to boot. Getting ahead of the pack is PUMA, revealing a set of three Suede colorways for the franchise’s core three protagonists: Chun-Li, Ken, and Ryu. The two sometimes friends, sometimes rivals see their colorways function as palette swaps of one another; distressed suede bodies in their primary colors meet character name callouts on the soles and a “Hadouken” logo on the left shoe. Chun-Li’s pair goes the furthest distance in adapting her on-screen appearance, utilizing leather side panels and rivets throughout to accent her iconic royal blue costume.
