An A-list brand and A-list collaborator start a new chapter this week.
It’s why the KITH x New Balance 2011 earns top billing this week, the first co-designed model in the brand’s lengthy relationship, and evidently a signal of a new wave to come if Action Bronson’s social media posts are any indication. It’s also a crowded basketball slate as well; Cade Cunningham (via his ST Charge PE), Kevin Durant, Cameron Boozer, Ja Morant, Luka Doncic, and Jayson Tatum are all heard from in the coming days. adi has themselves a busy one as well, looking to Brain Dead, the Care Bears, and SP5DER for collab efforts.
As our repeat readers will know, the first of the month means a ton of volume; we’ve split the July 1st releases into sections for basketball and for non-basketball. Otherwise, the script is the same as usual. Day-by-day breakdowns ahead include galleries depicting all the releases for each, with hyperlinks leading back to more detailed analysis of each shoe/set. Within those articles, you’ll find direct links for drop day. Otherwise, keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates and Jordan Release Dates pages to ensure no late-breakers fall through the cracks.
June 29th begins a new chapter in Fieg’s story with the Boston brand: the KITH New Balance 2011 gets a wide release following a West Hollywood exclusive launch. A more unexpected collabo is next up, as the adidas Brain Dead Disney Predator brings together the Mouse, the Three Stripes, and the World Cup.
June 30th clears up for the Rassvet Nike SB Tennis Classic, another crossover for a more underrated Nike, well, classic.
July 1st (lifestyle) brings the wide release for the adidas SP5DER F50 Formotion, bringing one of adi’s buzzier partners to the ongoing soccer moment. The New Balance 950 crashes in next, a new hoops-inspired branch in the Boston brand’s catalog. adi is back on the board with the Care Bears adidas, a sprawling set of nods to the beloved franchise. We close with a range of GR fare: two versions of the New Balance 2000 (“Smoked Violet” and “Silver Moss”), the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Aces,” two for the adidas Climacool Laced (Off-White / Solar Turbo), and the Vomero Premium “Bright Crimson.”
July 1st (basketball) pays off our headline with the Nike ST Charge Cade Cunningham Bowie High School, a sentimental nod to the point guard’s beginning that carries rival colors nonetheless. The KD 19 “Bubble Gum Bounce” continues the candy shop career of KD’s latest. Wonder Boy has two dropping on the same day, the Jordan Luka 5 “Graffiti” and the Jordan Luka 5 “Laser Fuschia”, before his (brand) teammate closes out with the equally delicate Jordan Tatum 4 “China Rose.”
July 2nd sticks with the performance angle; the Jordan Triangle introduces the Cameron Boozer-approved inline silhouette. The a-Feeling Saucony Progrid Paramount marks the first collaboration for a brand new brand, created by a Bodega alumni. The Jordan 4 “She’s A Star” offers some kid-only heat before the Nike A’Two “Royal Blue” echoes another Swoosh classic.
July 3rd closes the week seeing as Saturday is a national holiday. It’s another day for the hoopers to end this crop, as the Ja 3 “Animal Pack” brings animalistic style to Morant’s model and the Nike KD 6 “Meteorology” returns to shelves.
