Anthony Edwards has launched his second signature shoe with adidas, the AE2, this month. Over the weekend, the Timberwolves star stepped out in a special pair of the Superstar, dressed in navy blue croc leather and sporting his AE logo.

adidas has had one of the greatest runs of a debut signature sneaker this decade, with the Anthony Edwards AE1. The shoe made its debut in 2023, and was widely heralded as a sneaker of the year contender for 2024, backed up by dozens of excellent colorways. The shoe stuck around for most of 2025 as well, as their follow up to one of the most popular basketball shoes in recent memory went through some development turmoil. Edwards was reportedly not happy about the direction of the sophomore model, leading adi to move the AE3 up a year, turning it into what we now know as the AE2.

Well, the AE2 is finally here. While we have plenty of exciting releases of the model to look forward to, Edwards has also been cooking up some non-performance releases for 2026. This week, he stepped outside ahead of his matchup against the Lakers sporting a special pair of the adidas Superstar. Given the shoe’s importance to adidas history, the brand frequently uses it as a canvas for athletes and collaborators, and it appears Edwards will do the same, releasing a signature version next year. His take on the model brings high quality crocodile leather to the model, dressing the entire shoe in a tonal navy blue shade. The look is completed by his AE logo at the toes.

The first non basketball shoe release from Anthony Edwards and adidas has not been announced yet, currently expected to arrive sometime in 2026. Like many Three Stripes athletes, AE’s first foray into casual footwear will be the Superstar, dressing the shoe in dark navy blue and crocodile leather. Pairs will likely be available through both adidas and select retailers, and pricing is currently unknown.
