Air Jordan 2 “Knicks” Releasing Summer 2027

It feels like the New York Knicks’ historic NBA Championship won’t seem real until that banner goes up inside Madison Square Garden. The win has had NYC buzzing all summer, and for our purposes, we’ve seen just how much it’s benefitted sneaker brands since the team took the chip. People are excited about the Knicks and willing to drop big money on gear that shows their support.

With that in mind, Jordan Brand now has a couple of Knicks-themed sneakers on its release calendar, the first being an Air Jordan 8 as part of the “Idols Become Rivals” series. Sneaker Files and zSneakerHeadz now report that another team-themed pair is in the chamber for Summer 2027, with Jordan Brand giving a Knicks-inspired makeover to the seldom-seen Air Jordan 2.

The Air Jordan 2 is considered a black sheep of the line, and that reputation isn’t entirely unwarranted. Michael Jordan wasn’t a fan, so much so that it took Tinker Hatfield and the objet d’art that is the Air Jordan 3 to save the trajectory of his signature run. Still, no Jordan silhouette is without its fans.

Speculative mockups show a Sail leather foundation with Knicks-inspired blue and orange accents on some of the ancillary elements, namely the spine, quarter piping, and so on. No SKU or official color palette has been reported as of this writing, though the aforementioned sources do relay word of a Summer 2027 launch.
