Reebok Returns The “Pump Universe” For Its Next Installment Of Reimagined Basketball Models

In the middle of February, it was revealed Reebok was venturing into a new era of footwear that saw the official establishment of the “Pump Universe” – a collection of silhouettes from the brand’s archives retooled with their staple Pump technology leading the design direction. Introduced via the reimagining of Shaq as a tennis player with the Shaq Victory Pump and reinterpreting Allen Iverson’s Question Mid, the next installment in Chapter 1 from the reconceptualized lineup of footwear arrives on April 22nd with a second slate of color blockings.

Applying OG colorways with the same remixed silhouettes, the Question Mid Pump imagines if Allen Iverson had the height to win the NBA Dunk Contest, bringing the imaginative upper of the Reebok Pump Omni Zone II to Iverson’s signature Reebok Question from his rookie season. Draped in a flipped aesthetic of the Omni Zone II’s iconic white/black/orange color blocking that Dee Brown famously wore during the 1991 Dunk Contest Championship, the tonal neutral upper receives a semi-translucent gum finish underfoot.

The second what-if scenario plays upon the idea of the 7’1 Shaquille O’Neal rallying for the Wimbledon Championship against Michael Cheng. Reimagining his staple hardwood silhouette – the Reebok Shaq Attaq – for the pitch with a racquet in hand, the latter is combined with the brand’s staple tennis silhouette, the Court Victory II. Reminiscent of an OG colorway last released in 2009, the chosen hits of blue and green illuminate the clad black base while a revised tennis logo accompanies the heel counter.

Scheduled to release for a retail price of $180 next Saturday, April 22nd, in the meantime enjoy official imagery of the Reebok “Pump Universe” collection below.
