The absolute purists in Jordan collecting may still bristle at the sight of the Air Jordan 1 Mid, but in terms of being able to grab a pair off the shelves, it’s hard to argue with it as a gateway into the hobby. Further, when the Mid leans on the monstrous legacy of its higher cut cousin, it can issue some genuine standouts in its own right, something we’d levy against the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Squadron Blue.”
Relying on the black and white foundation of OGs like the “Black Toe,” this colorway starts off with a heavy dose of that ’85 DNA. Once you shift over to the front of the design, that’s where the comparatively new “Bred Toe” blocking begins to take hold, yet restricting this titular icy tone to just the collar certainly allows simplisticity to win out. It’s not a one-to-one match, either in terms of blocking or specific Pantones, but this could be the “Igloo at home” for those who missed out on that seminal 2017 Art Basel drop.
Look for the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Squadron Blue” to touch down come Spring 2026, retailing for $125. Keep an eye over this and all the brand has in store via our 2026 Jordan Releases landing page.
