The wire between Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance is always active. It’s hard not to be when ALD founder Teddy Santis moonlights as the New Balance Made in USA creative head, a collaborator overlap unlike anything else in the sneaker world right now. On the heels of a sudden New Balance RC56 drop comes a teaser previewing more Spring/Summer 2026 styles, including new takes on the New Balance 471 and New Balance 1300.
The 1300 is undoubtedly the more recognizable of the two model, revered by New Balance heads for its premium Made in USA construction and quinquennial 1300JP releases. Aimé Leon Dore’s first crack at the model arrived in 2021, delivering green and pink hairy suede styles that rank among the brand’s more underrated collabs (just one man’s opinion). This latest pair skews preppy with navy hairy suede and a yellow backtab, complete with co-branding on the tongue.
On the other hand, the New Balance 471 offers retro, ’70s runner-inspired flavor with its slim silhouette and sharp paneling. ALD’s teaser shows a white leather and mesh colorway accented by hits of forest green, once again leaning into the preppy, classically American vibe the brand is known for.
No release dates for either the 1300 or 471 have been announced yet, but we’ll circle back as soon as there’s more info to report. For now, see detailed images below.
