It may be several years at this point, but K-Pop Demon Hunters 2 is one of the most anticipated sequels in Tinseltown, following up on Netflix’s totemic breakout smash. Yet even if fans have to wait until 2029 to get deeper into the story of Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, the budding franchise’s merchandising arm is still churning along.
The blockbuster made its way onto our desks towards the end of 2025 as Vans unexpectedly became its foremost licensee in footwear, no doubt slyly timed to just before Christmas. There’s far more on the way from that partnership, however, as the California company has now announced. Teasing several styles, including the furry Derpy Slip-On depicted above, the tangible release at hand is a “Golden”-inspired version of the Old Skool, coming exclusively in kids’ sizing.
The sneaker adaptation, crafted for the 1-year anniversary of the film’s release, is every bit as shimmering as the perennial #1 single. Golden toes and heels collide with similar gilded stripes throughout the insoles, lace stays, and sidewalls. The SideStripe adds a bit of grounded interplay in black, but of course doesn’t spare that same regalia, adding glittery accents as it waves from the rear to the forefoot.
The K-Pop Demon Hunters x Vans Old Skool drops on July 17th at Vans stores before a wider online launch on July 20th. Big kids’ sizing clocks in at $75, little kids’ at $60, and toddlers’ at $55. Further product from the partnership is expected in the coming months, including the aforementioned Derpy Slip-On and more from the principal Demon Hunters and the Saja Boys.
