Australian retailer Up There is back with another excellent sneaker collaboration, reuniting with Asics for another entry in their ongoing relationship. The GEL-Kayano 20 is the canvas this time, dressed in a “Safety Yellow” color for the occasion.

Australia’s sneaker retailers have stepped up their game in the last few years, with a handful of stores releasing some excellent collaborations this decade. One of our favorites to watch has been Up There, a Melbourne-based boutique specializing in high end apparel and footwear. This week, the store has unveiled their fifth collaboration with Asics, taking on the GEL-Kayano 20 for a special release. Up There cites the 20 as a classic in Aussie sneaker culture, with locals flocking to the brightest and loudest colors possible to showcase their style. The retro runner comes in a bold “Safety Yellow” for the occasion, borrowing its mesh underlay from the GEL-Kinsei 4, which reportedly fades to white overtime for a unique look. The tennis ball color is paired with overlays to match, with the midfoot sections also in neon yellow, but fading to white around the toes and heels of the shoe. Finally, Pure Silver reflective accents complete the look.

The latest collaboration from Australian retailer Up There and Asics has been scheduled to debut next week, on August 20th, 2026. The latest project sees the two dressing the GEL-Kayano 20 in a new color scheme, combining a striking Safety Yellow upper with a small dose of Pure Silver for the shoe’s accents. Pairs will release through Up There’s storefront and online, though a wider release has not been confirmed yet, so be prepared to tack on a hefty shipping fee. Pricing for the shoe itself is $197.
