Korean label UNAFFECTED is back this season with another sneaker release, marking their third annual drop with Asics. This time, the GEL-Kayano 12.1 is in the spotlight, dressed in three black-based colorways for the new collection.

UNAFFECTED, launched in Seoul in 2015, works under the motto “Greater Simplicity, But With Some Fun,” blending functional contemporary wear with witty details. The brand champions the idea of wearing what you want, and creates urban casual pieces that navigate complex city life with ease and style. Its design language features balanced silhouettes, subtle playful elements, and thoughtful material choices. For the last several Fall/Winter seasons, the brand has collaborated with Asics to bring their unique aesthetic to the Japanese running brand’s footwear. That tradition continues this year with the GEL-Kayano 12.1.

The last project from UNAFFECTED and Asics came almost a year ago, and highlighted the GEL-Kayano 20 with three styles. Before that, the two worked on a triplet of Kayano 14 colorways. This week, they’ve unveiled the latest project for Fall/Winter 2025, which will make its debut in Korea tomorrow, before a wider release in September. This project features the asymmetrical GEL-Kayano 12.1, once again in a trio of styles. Each pair features a black base for the mesh underlay, but swaps out the synthetic overlays for a different accent. One pair comes with a metallic silver finish, and the second in a matte gunmetal grey shade. The final look comes in a glossy black to complete the set.

UNAFFECTED X ASICS GEL-KAYANO 12.1 PACK RELEASE INFORMATION

Korean label UNAFFECTED has announced their next release with Asics will debut tomorrow, November 7th, exclusively in Korea. However, a wider global release of the project is expected in December. The project features three colorways of the GEL-Kayano 12.1 each in black with a different shade of grey accent. Pricing for this release is currently unknown.
