Tomorrowland's WR1 Sneaker Is Built to Live Beyond the Festival

Tomorrowland has unveiled the WR1, its first-ever sneaker and the newest way for its global community to carry a piece of the festival into everyday life. Developed over the course of more than a year, the shoe reads less like festival merch and more like something you would reach for on an ordinary Tuesday, built around soft, organic lines and a sole that looks to nature for its shape. The WR1's signature sits underfoot. Its sculpted sole unit takes its cue from the fine, radiating ridges found on the underside of a mushroom cap, translating those natural patterns into a form that curves and layers rather than sitting flat. That organic language runs up into the silhouette too, with flowing lines and stacked textures giving the shoe a soft, sculptural feel. Rather than chase a seasonal look, the design settles on a timeless shape Tomorrowland intends to keep in rotation year after year. For all that detail, this is a shoe made for everyday life, not a festival-only keepsake. It moves easily between settings, from a daytime walk across the city to a late night out, without ever announcing where it came from. The Tomorrowland name stays understated across the design, letting the shape carry the identity instead of an oversized logo.At its heart, though, the WR1 is about the people who wear it. Tomorrowland has always been less a festival than a community, a shared spirit of movement, connection and self-expression that its millions of fans carry long after the last set ends. The shoe is built for exactly that community, a way to keep the feeling of belonging close whether or not you make it to Belgium in a given year. It arrives in several versions too, leaving room for everyone to find the one that suits their own rhythm rather than fall in line behind a single house look. That range is the point: this is a sneaker meant to meet people where they are, and to sit alongside the fragrances, homeware and design pieces the community already folds into daily life as small, personal reminders of the connection they share. The sneaker caps a slow, deliberate build. What started 15-plus years ago with logo tees and caps has grown into a full lifestyle operation covering fashion, accessories, fragrance, wellness, homeware and design, with past collaborators including Grown Alchemist, Baobab Collection, Serax, Sarda and LOOP. Developed by the brand's in-house team, the WR1 opens footwear as an entirely new category. It made its first appearance at Tomorrowland Belgium 2026, where festivalgoers were the first to discover and order the shoe through custom-built stores staged as a sculptural extension of its design, while a campaign fronted by Lost Frequencies, Miss Monique and NOVAH carries the launch outward, each artist embodying the movement and connection at the heart of the WR1.From there the rollout travels. The WR1 will be sold at the Tomorrowland Flagship Store in Ibiza, Magic of Tomorrowland in China, in Melbourne, in Amsterdam as part of Amsterdam Dance Event, and at Tomorrowland Thailand, with a Hong Kong pop-up joining the lineup and further activations still to be confirmed. Running alongside the release, Tomorrowland's documentary heads to screens in Bangkok, Shanghai, and London, giving the launch a cultural backdrop that reaches well past the shoe itself. The Tomorrowland WR1 pre-sale launches globally on September 13, with the pre-registration campaign going live on September via the Tomorrowland store, which will remain the easiest place to pick up a pair once the pre-sale wraps.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
