Albeit short-lived, Tom Sachs’ General Purpose Shoe had sneaker fans in a chokehold upon debuting in 2022. The creator of the iconic Nike Mars Yard line delivered a model for the people, combining a versatile, lifestyle-friendly design with production numbers large enough for the common man to secure a pair, resulting in a heavy presence on city streets.
Nike’s renewed partnership with Sachs has brought the GPS back into the headlines, first through multiple OG colorway restocks and then via a new style offered to losers of the Mars Yard 3.0 raffle. This latest pair is even more refreshing, forgoing the model’s usual knit synthetic build in favor of perforated leather.
The gallery below shows black leather across the upper, save for white leather on the Swoosh and backtab. Team Royal pull tabs add a splash of color, while a dark brown EVA foam midsole pairs with black waffle-inspired traction underfoot.
No release info for the Tom Sachs x Nike General Purpose Shoe “Black/Team Royal” has been announced as of this writing, but a Spring/Summer 2026 drop for $110 seems most likely. See retailer images below and stay tuned for updates.
