Nike has been rereleasing some of the greatest colorways of their Kobe line with the new Protro format in recent years. This week, we have a first in-hand look at this Spring’s retro of the 2011 “All-Star 3D” color scheme, coming soon.

The 2011 NBA All-Star Weekend was one for the books. Held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center for the first time since 2004, the weekend was packed with celebrity appearances and performances, including a half-time show by Rihanna, Drake, and Kanye West. That year, Kobe Bryant was the most-voted player to participate, receiving an incredible 2.3 million public votes. For the occasion, Nike designed a special pair of his Kobe 6 sneaker to wear in-game, which paid homage to Hollywood and cinema with a “3D” theme.

At the time, 3D movies were growing immensely popular, but still required you to view them with the dual red and blue-tinted glasses to produce the desire effect. Nike borrowed directly from this technology, using a blurred dot pattern across the upper that would appear three-dimensional if you were wearing a pair of the glasses. The pair also features electric blue accents on the right shoe and bright red for the left shoe. This also worked as a subtle nod to the red-vs-blue jerseys of the East and West teams.

NIKE KOBE 6 PROTRO “ALL-STAR 3D” RELEASE INFORMATION

Nike’s latest retro colorway of the Kobe 6 has not been announced yet, but is expected to release during the Spring 2026 season. The 2011 “All-Star 3D’ colorway, inspired by the deal red and blue tones of 3d glasses, will be available from both Nike and select retailers in the court-ready Protro form, with a price tag of $200.
