More than a decade after its original debut, the Nike Kobe 10 is entering the Protro era. The brand has officially unveiled the Kobe 10 Protro, reengineering one of Kobe Bryant’s more celebrated performance models with a series of modern updates designed to meet the demands of today’s game, all while remaining faithful to the philosophy that made the original such a standout in 2015.

As with every Protro release, the goal isn’t simply to bring back a classic. Since 2018, the Protro program sought to evolve models of the past through meaningful performance updates, and for the Kobe 10, the most significant changes begin with the upper, where Nike has replaced the original construction with a redesigned engineered mesh that improves breathability and flexibility while maintaining the lockdown players expect.

Beneath, a widened forefoot and strategically placed reinforcements further enhance comfort without sacrificing stability. Underfoot, the Kobe 10 receives one of its biggest performance upgrades yet, swapping the original Lunarlon and heel Zoom Air setup for Cushlon 3.0 foam paired with a full-length Zoom Strobel, creating a more responsive ride with improved energy return and consistent court feel from heel to toe.

Familiar details return as well, including the signature carbon fiber forefoot wing for lateral support and Kobe Bryant’s hidden “Endure and Conquer” messaging, preserving elements that helped make the Kobe 10 one of the most technically advanced basketball shoes of its era.

The Kobe 10 Protro debuts on August 23 in the all-white “Halo” colorway, with additional engineered mesh editions scheduled throughout 2026. Looking even further ahead, Nike confirmed that Flyknit versions featuring ZoomX cushioning will arrive in 2027, giving the Kobe 10 a multi-year roadmap that extends well beyond its initial return. Additionally, we can expect the Kobe 10 “5 AM Flight” this holiday season as well as the Kobe 10 “Blackout” in Spring 2027.
