Nike Brings Cracked Patent Leather To The Air Force 1 ’01

Looking back at Y2K looks has been the formula for your favorite influencers and stylists for the better part of this decade, similarly informing what the biggest brands have done with throwback tech runners and the like. Transparently, we’re a bit surprised it’s taken this long, but Nike is making the old look of one of their foremost silhouettes a real priority for the seasons ahead via the Nike Air Force 1 ’01.

Carrying a slimmer silhouette and modified shape, the 2001 composition has been in focus via NIGO’s collab line and several celebrations of New York City, but now opens up its the general release slate as part of the SNKRS Verified program. Within that lookbook style preview, we get our first look at the Nike Air Force 1 ’01 “Cracked Leather,” utilizing pre-distressed textures on a patent leather Force.

To our eye, this reads as similar treatment to what the “Lost and Found” brought to the Air Jordan 1; that is to say, getting a bit meta by adapting what a deadstock pair might look like when stored over a period of two decades and change. It’s only right that that era’s aesthetics continue onto similarly classic color stories, as a clean black-on-white and green-on-white tap into what the Uptown was wearing in the early aughts.

The Nike Air Force 1 ’01 “Cracked Leather,” along with the other pairs shown in this “September 2026” look-ahead, is due out in the coming weeks.
