Could we be facing a moment when the Nike GT Future… is no longer the future? Credit where credit is due; along with the GT Cut 4, the Foamposite-inspired high-top turned the “Greater Than” family from a range of high-rated performance models into a genuine hotbed for aesthetic innovation, already on our minds as AJ Dybantsa flexed a “shining armor” model set to join the ranks.

The Nike GT Future still has time to forge its legacy as we look ahead to the dawn of the GT Uptempo, GT Force, and GT Flight, understood to be the next chapter of the product family and potentially a group that’ll supercede the model at hand. In the meantime, a “Varsity Red” adds a natural extension to the canon of colorways, to date focusing primarily on sporty, simplistic arrangements (though some graphic/gradient editions have stepped beyond those bounds.) Resplendent, shimmering red coats the countours of the tank-like exterior, tied back to more staid fare by jet black trim.
