There are two types of sports fans in this world; those whose pre-game actions are unmoored by any thought their conduct could affect their favorite team, or the uber-superstitious, those whose rituals are dictated by whether they’ve resulted in wins or losses in clashes before.
For those who place basketball at the top of their fandom totem pole, Nike is aiming to add a good luck charm to your rotation. Revealed here is the Nike Dunk Low “Gameday,” a corresponding release to an earlier-revealed Air Force 1, joining that pair with heavy hairy suede treatments and two-tone aces. Further, this pair also adds the same gilded, sporty charms, here displayed dangling down the midline.
Exactly the intent in this “Gamday” presentation is unclear, but there’s an obvious Lakers connection given the dominant coloring. Even if your loyalties lie outside of Los Angeles, neutral tonality in the grey Swoosh, off-white base, and ever-reliable gum sole should make these a suitable addition to any stadium or arena ‘fit.
The Nike Dunk Low “Gameday” should be releasing sometime in the coming weeks, retailing for $125 in women’s sizing.
