Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Fine — by really any standard, the Air Max DN8 isn’t old, but 2025’s Air Max Day silhouette has been supplanted in that regard by the Air Liquid Max. Maybe that shifted spotlight now allows the Dynamic Air sneaker to step out of itself a bit, or perhaps step into the footsteps of another shoe entirely.

To our eye, this latest colorway for the 8-chambered kick is a moment where the DN8 pulls form its younger sibling, not only with the shared black/highlighter green palette from the Liquid Max’s debut, but also in the patterning. For the uninitiated, the Liquid takes cues from poison dart frogs in its hardware, clearly doing the same with the Volt-tinged look to start its journey. With glitchy, futuristic prints up top, the DN8 produces a suitable facsimile of the same, but some grungy grey interplay helps this one sit on its own two simultaneously.
