With less than a week to go until the NFL season kicks off, we’ve got football on the brain, and maybe we’re leaning into the moment, but we’re reading some pretty strong “Detroit Lions” vibes off this upcoming New Balance 1890.
A hybrid tech runner pairing the upper of the 890v3 with the sole unit of the Made in USA 2002, the 1890 here stays in its wheelhouse with a brushed blue metallic hue on the segmented toe overlay, calling back to the shiny, sheen-heavy NFL jerseys of the 2000s, when Reebok was the league’s main supplier. The upper follows suit in a darker blue mesh, complemented by black heel paneling and more blue hits within the ABZORB SBS units underfoot.
