If you’re partial to Kobe footwear, the bittersweet fact is that there’s arguably never been a more prolific period. The Protro line is, without question, one of the Swoosh’s more beneficial modern moves; Bryant’s revived signature line remains the choice for both recreational hoopers and the pros. Beyond that, the Kobe name has been attached to a range of lifestyle options: the Dunk Low is soon to enter the canon, while the Air Force 1 is its current standard bearer.
Importantly, the Bryant-inspired takes on the Uptown have come in two different flanks: one a series of more weighty fare that hits on his “Lower Merion High” days, his “Frobe” moniker, or the “City of Champions” for the Forum alongside the Kobe 1 Protro. The other, more accessible run has stuck to two-tone or flooded motifs, something visited anew by this “Steam” green edition. Though the line’s hallmarks remain in place (a slew of Sheath logos, 8/24 heel text, and snakeskin uppers), the real distinguishing factor is the reptilian palette swap.
Expect the Kobe Bryant x Nike Air Force 1 Low “Steam” to hit shelves this Summer, likely between April and June. We’re expecting the standard $120 retail price.
