The Air Jordan 40 has caught our attention in the last few weeks, thanks to the growing roster of homage pairs to past Jumpman greats. This week, we have an early look at a return to the standard-issue style, dressed in a simple ‘Wolf Grey” color scheme.

Jordan Brand’s rollout for the Air Jordan 40 is one of their best new product releases in years. The new shoe marks the beginning of their fourth decade crafting performance basketball shoes, and they did not disappoint for such a major milestone. After a small assortment of fun colorways for the 40’s Summer debut, the model has appeared in a number of incredible styles over the last few months, which pay homage to past Jordan mainline models. The 40/16 was the first of these styles to release, and we are still waiting on other unique pairs like the 40/14 “Ferrari” and 40/6 “Infrared“.

While we wait for more of those special releases, Jordan Brand is taking a quick break to deliver a simple new color for the AJ40 base model, bringing the fan-favorite “Wolf Grey” look to the new shoe. Made famous by the Air Jordan 11, tonal grey Jordans are few and far between, but are a hit every time. This pair takes a different approach, coloring the bulk of the upper in an off-white Photon Dust shade. The forefoot of the look comes in the steely grey shade, giving it the appearance of being dipped in a bucket of paint.

Jordan Brand has not officially announced their next release of the new Air Jordan 40, though some retailers have their calendars set for January 8th, 2026. The new look brings the “Wolf Grey” shade to the new model, made famous by the beloved AJ11. This is paired with off-white hues for a smooth neutral look. Pairs will be available from Nike and select retailers for $205.
