The 1998 adidas EQT Gamespeed Returns in 2026 in “Power Blue”

adidas has made some interesting moves in recent years with their retro catalog. Next year, they are planning to reintroduce an incredible ’90s trainer, the EQT GameSpeed, making its comeback in a striking “Power Blue” color scheme in Spring.

The adidas Equipment GameSpeed from 1998 is a standout of adidas’s late-’90s “Feet You Wear” era, blending running and training tech for multi-use athletic performance. Designed under the Equipment umbrella, it featured layered overlays, bold branding, and robust cushioning meant for wide receivers like Keyshawn Johnson (see the print ad below). While it didn’t become as culturally iconic as some adidas basketball models from the Equipment family, the GameSpeed is an incredible showcase of the brand’s late-’90s aesthetic.

This week, official images were unearthed showing adidas first-ever retro of the EQT GameSpeed, currently scheduled for a Spring 2026 debut. The model has been hiding in their archives for nearly thirty years, and is making a comeback in style with this “Power Blue” colorway. The look features a Cloud White shade for the mesh base layer and leather Three Stripes branding. The glossy Power Blue tone takes over the shoe’s mudguard, and extends all the way from toe to heel. Small hints of neon green around the sole complete the look.
