Salehe Bembury Teases His Take on the New Balance 991v2

Salehe Bembury is the most prolific independent sneaker designer around right now, releasing new projects on a regular basis. This week, he has teased another upcoming collaboration with New Balance, showing off a pair of the Made in UK 991v2 in a shaggy purple suede composition.

The work of sneaker designer Salehe Bembury is infiltrating every corner of the world of footwear. The designer’s career started off introducing new silhouettes for Payless and Cole Haan, before moving on to create new concepts for the Yeezy line, and later on, Versace. Now, he spends his time working with a wide variety of brands, recently announcing a new partnership with PUMA to work on some of their upcoming basketball sneakers. However, his partnerships with Crocs and New Balance remain the main focus of his work.

This week, Bembury has given us another teaser of an upcoming sneaker release with New Balance, after an initial glimpse of his 530 release earlier this Summer. While we are still waiting on that yellow pair to arrive, he has shown us an early look at a new signature style of the 991v2. The Made in UK model gets a makeover in shaggy purple suede uppers for his take, adding some bright blue, green, and yellow shades as accent colors.
