However, Jordan Brand and Tatum are fighting against that plotline, positioning the silhouette as the greatest partner you could ask for as he fights through this latest setback — not a divergence from his path to greatness, but one of many ups and downs along the way. As a bona fide face of the league and of the global Jordan Brand enterprise, the partners are leaning into the latter half of that equation, letting loose a Jayson Tatum x Jordan “World Tour” pack that includes the Tatum 4 and Air Jordan 11 IE.

Real hoops heads will recognize this moment as an echo of how the Tatum 3 received this same treatment, pairing an exclusive floral version of that shoe with an identically coated Air Jordan 1 Low OG. Stepping towards the Air Jordan 11 Low IE is undoubtedly an unexpected move, but a welcome one all the same — here splayed out in a minimal white and “Sail” colorway. Its cerulean Jumpman on the tongue ties to the performance aspect of this capsule, a revamp of the Tatum 4 with veins of royal blue and neutral tumbled leather.
