Whether they’ll cap off this year is an open question, but they’ll almost assuredly be fighting in the postseason for that chance of glory by the time the Caitlin 1 touches down, now coming further into view ahead of its October release.
Anyone who watched Clark’s incredible Iowa come-up or digested any piece of content about the W doesn’t need Caitlin’s star power enumerated. However, exactly what makes her signature shoe is worth diving into. The central development is an “Opticast” upper, utilizing raised textures of various heights to make a more aerodynamic product and support specific support zones. Underfoot, we’ve got the combo of an Air Zoom Turbo unit and Cushlon foam, and a midfoot plate for overall stability.
What these updated studio shots allow for The bottom-up view shows off the etched mantras, ranging from “This Was Never A Long Shot” to “From The Logo” to “Shoot More Threes,” all splayed out between the traction and an arpeggiating TPU shank. This also provides a look at the multidirectional traction in that same section, an elongated herringbone style in translucent rubber. Finally, custom packaging aligning with this “Opti Blue” colorway could speak to gradients as a repeated motif through the model’s journey.
The Nike Caitlin 1 remains on track for an October 1st release date via Nike channels and partnering retailers. In adult sizing, a $140 USD retail price is in place, with GS and PS pairs clocking in at $100 and $90, respectively.
