Official Images of the Jordan Tatum 1 "Barbershop"

During a home game in 2019, Jayson Tatum was mic'd up during warmups and made a comment that he believes he's "top 5" whenever he has a fresh haircut. And so for the first batch of the Celtics superstar's signature shoes, Jordan Brand has elected to immortalize this moment by engineering his Jordan Tatum 1 in a "Barbershop" colorway. While used sparingly, the barbershop-inspired details on these court-ready kicks are positioned in various areas. Bright blue and red stripes — which are symbolic of barbers' poles — are situated on the heel tabs as well as the interior sides of the tongues, the former of which host Tatum's signature while the latter is accompanied by a "Deuce" hit to shout out his son. Actual barbershop pole icons rest on the footbeds and come adorned with tiny Jumpman insignias. Side panels are brought to life with "Coconut Milk" mesh uppers and TPU frames while solid black nubuck heel panels and overlays sit adjacent. Jordan Brand logos on the heels and the "JT" hits on the tongues are splashed with metallic gold coatings while the midsoles bear a tiny punch of red that can be seen through their exposed areas. If you're looking to add these to your hoop rotation, mark your calendars for a May 12 release as Nike and select retailers are slated to drop these for $120 USD.Elsewhere in footwear, take a gander at the Steve Wiebe x Air Jordan 4 "Tattoo" Jayson Tatum PE.
