Nike’s Air Force 1 Joins the “Year of the Dragon” Collection

Nike is preparing for the annual Zodiac-themed sneaker collection, taking inspiration from 2024 as the “Year of the Dragon”. This week, the Air Force 1 Low joined the project, coming soon.

Each year, Nike releases a collection themed around the Chinese Zodiac, taking inspiration from the twelve rotating animal signs to craft special-edition sneaker releases. 2024 marks the Year of the Dragon, and with it, Nike has prepared a few sneakers under the reptilian theme. For the past few months, we’ve been getting early looks at a pair of the Air Jordan 1 Low, and now, the Air Force 1 has joined the pack. The AF1 features a plain white leather upper, adding inset Swooshes that appear to change color based on the angle of light hitting them. Tongue badges feature a similar colorful sheen, as well as a dragon motif with a Swoosh in the middle. The heel counters are added in a reptilian leather textile, while semi-translucent midsoles with a yellow to pink gradient complete the look.

Nike’s upcoming collection for the Year of the Dragon is set to arrive sometime early in 2024, with the AJ1 Low currently scheduled for January 24th, though this Air Force 1 Low has not been given an official date yet. Dressed in white with dragon-themed accents, pairs will likely be available from both the SNKRS app and select retailers.
