Nike Zoom Vomero 5 Gets a "Gundam" Makeover
The Nike Zoom Vomero 5 has surfaced in what appears to be a wild "Gundam" inspired colorway, featuring vibrant shades of red and blue with metallic panels. At the time of writing, it's not yet been confirmed whether or not the "Gundam" nickname is the official name of the shoe from Nike or if it's been assigned by the sneaker community but we like it and we're going with it.Notable design elements that nod to the warrior machines from the Japanese anime include rubberized cages and a base layer of mesh in University Red, metallic panels with reflective details, as well as liner and outsole elements in vibrant Photo Blue -- complemented by logos of the same color at the heel. To tie it all together, the silhouette features a pre-distressed mid-sold and glossy black Swoosh logo.Despite having been around for over 12 years, the Zoom Vomero 5 has just recently begun to garner significant attention and recognition, with 2022 and 2023 representing major progress and a large variety of inline releases for the silhouette. While some of the most popular examples have been monochromatic or tonal takes on the pair, the "Gundam" challenges that and gives the wearer something a little more exciting to add to their rotation. The exact release date for the vibrant pair has not yet been shared at the time of writing, however, a holiday release via Nike's official channels is expected, with retail to be set at $160 USD.In other footwear news, the Nike P-6000 "Flat Pewter" is set to arrive by the end of the year.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
