Nike’s .SWOOSH department has been on a hell of a ride since its introduction several years ago. Initially created during the pandemic-era NFT & crypto boom, .SWOOSH was meant to be their platform for digital assets. When that venture didn’t pan out as they’d hoped, .SWOOSH pivoted to pop culture themed releases, with many releases relating to retro video games and technology. This week, .SWOOSH has unveiled their next project, a pair of the GT Future as an ode to Swooshman. The fictional superhero was a mascot for Nike in the ’90s, appearing at events in a silver metallic muscle suit and helmet adorned with bold red Swooshes. The costume reportedly cost the brand $125,000 to build, a remarkable amount of marketing resources at the time. The GT Future ode to the superhero mimics his metallic sheen through a gradient upper, starting in white and fading to blue at the soles. The molded single piece is covered entirely in a reflective coating. Red Swooshes appear on either side of the shoe, while the mascot’s helmet is added as a tongue badge on both shoes.

The next release from Nike’s .SWOOSH sub-label has not been given a set date yet, but is scheduled to arrive sometime in March 2026. The special-edition release colors the molded upper in a white to blue gradient, adding striking red Swooshes to either side, and the Swooshman mask as a tongue badge. The pair is also covered in a reflective 3M coating. Pairs will be available though SNKRS for $210.
