Paris Fashion Week is underway right now, and brands are pulling up to show off upcoming wares for the coming year. Nike has teased a plethora of unique new sneakers, including square-toed editions of the Air Force 1.
Sneakers have had an increasingly large presence at Paris Fashion Week presentations, through both runway shows from collaborators and from the footwear brands themselves showing up to display upcoming styles. Nike has set up a showroom in Paris this week to show off some of their more out-there upcoming models, which seems to include a heavy emphasis on square-toed adaptations of iconic sneakers. The main story today is the Air Force 1, seen here in several different styling with a flat forefoot. This unveiling comes just weeks after official images of the adidas Stan Smith Square appeared online, signaling a new trend for sneaker brands to embrace.
Nike’s flat front Air Force 1 will arrive in at least three different stylings throughout the next year. Some reports say that the new take on the icon will arrive initially this Fall, kicking things off with the classic triple-white and triple-black color schemes. Some of the more eccentric styles are not expected until next year, during Spring season. This likely includes the two plaid pairs seen below, one in red and blue and the other in a wild mix of green, black, white, red, and pink, both sporting thick woven laces. Spring will likely also see the release of the Western pairs, which come in suede executions with some extra flourish around the toes, a design detail borrowed directly from the cowboy boots they are inspired by. Those pairs also add a gemstone lace dubrae for more Western influence.
Nike’s latest spin on their iconic Air Force 1 does not have a set timeline for release quite yet. The range of colorways shown in Paris this week will likely arrive starting with standard black & white pairs this Fall, with drops continuing into Spring 2027. Each style seen here, plain, plaid, and western, will likely arrive with their accompanying colorways for several waves of releases. Pairs are expected to be available from Nike and select retailers. Pricing is currently unknown.
